How It Started:
The Junipero Coffee Build

How it started: a coffee shop owner filled out a form on our website on a Thursday morning. What follows is the actual run of it — the conversation, the documents, and the site — so you can see exactly how working with us goes.

Same morning
from first inquiry to a full proposal in his inbox
3
design directions to choose from — in the very first proposal
Next morning
signed, deposit in, build started

The conversation

You don't have to read a stack of emails — here it is, the way it actually flowed. Scroll.

Nick — Junipero Coffee

Morning Light — that's the shop. Website first, and the store for beans, mugs, and gift cards. Two things before my final yes: is the deposit half of the setup, due at signing? And does the monthly care start at signing, or when we go live?

Thursday morning
Frederick Studios

Straight answers: yes — half at signing, and that books your build. The other half isn't due until the site is finished, you've seen it, and you've approved it. And care starts the day the site goes live — never at signing.

Same morning
Nick

Honest pause from me: half up front before there's a finished site gives me a moment. I think I'd pictured half at launch. Can we talk it through?

Friday morning
Frederick Studios

Of course — and it's a fair pause. The deposit doesn't buy a promise; it reserves the work. The moment it lands, a build slot and our whole team's schedule are committed to your shop alone. The second half protects you the same way: you don't owe it until the finished site is in front of you and approved. No pressure either way — proceed, pause, or shrink the scope. Your call.

Same morning

✅ The result: Nick signed, the deposit booked his build, and work started — the same morning he said yes.

What the client received

Everything Nick got, you can open. This is what lands in a Frederick Studios client's hands:

You don't hand it over. You build it with us.

Those designs aren't a sales trick — they're how your brain gets started. You see a direction and you start thinking like an owner: I love that — but what if we moved this? I want that on mine. Good. That's the job.

At Frederick Studios you don't hand your website to a guy who disappears and comes back with whatever he felt like building. We bring you into the process — from the very beginning. You pick the direction, you shape it, you approve the finished site before the balance is ever due. It's your shop. It should look like you were in the room — because you were.

The terms, in the open

Website setup (design, build, store, email list)$2,500
Deposit — half, at signing. Books the build: your slot, our team's schedule.$1,250
Balance — only when the site is finished, shown to you, tested, and approved by you.$1,250
Monthly care — starts on launch day, the day your site goes live. Never at signing.$400/mo

The same rule for every client: half up front, half on your approval of the finished work, care from launch day. Plus one full round of revisions after launch, included.

The build — signed to finished site the same day

Nick signed on Friday, October 23. That same morning, the site was built and had passed full QA: every page, menu, form, and order path checked at phone and desktop sizes.

Same morning
from signed agreement to a built, fully tested site
Inside three days
the whole engagement, from first inquiry to a finished store
Personal
the delivery — sent by the owner himself, not a system

The finished site was delivered that same afternoon, sent personally by the owner. The time in between wasn't a stall: the site was ready that morning, and the delivery landed in the flow of an ordinary working day. Delivery at this studio is the owner's own send, by design — your site arrives from a person, not a system.

The revision round — included, and actually used

Saturday morning, October 24, Nick's feedback came in — and the revised site was back in his hands the same morning. The whole round was done inside a day, back and forth. His four changes:

• Saturday hours, standing out — his most-asked question, now impossible to miss.
• Cold Brew corrected to $5.25 — his menu, his prices, fixed at his word.
• “Our Story” removed — his call: “not how we talk.” Gone, no argument.
• A new “Good to know” section — parking, wifi, dogs on the patio, gift cards, beans to take home — in his own answers.

The rest of the round was an upgrade the owner directed himself: the still hero at the top of the site became a 36-second looping film — sunrise over the shop, the first cup, the counter, first light inside — because a site should feel the way the place feels.

The included revision round was done inside a day, back and forth. It's included for every client — this is what it actually looks like when one gets used.

How the build runs

• Design first — you approve the full design before anything is built.
• Built to be edited — change your hours, swap a photo, update a menu yourself. No developer needed for everyday changes.
• Tested like we mean it — every page checked the way customers use it: phones, desktops, menus, forms, orders. If it doesn't pass, it doesn't ship.
• Delivered for your approval — balance due only then. Then launch, and care begins.

One honest note to close

Junipero Coffee is our own test build — a demo shop we ran through the exact process, terms, and clock a real client gets, so the numbers on this page could be measured instead of promised. Our founder said it best, the morning the revision round closed:

“This isn't even a real client. And we put this much effort and intensity into just something that doesn't even exist. It's just a demo. So obviously it shows — if we put this much thought into just something that's a demo, you can only imagine how much attention you will get from our business.”
